Chamberlin Violins

The one thing the Chamberlin always claims to have over the Mellotron is the improved sound fidelity. That has a lot to do with the clarity of the original sound recordings, which were only passed on to the Mellotron manufacturers in the form of the original 'three violins' sound, and even then only in a generational copy form.

This recording should come as something of a revelation to Mellotron enthusiasts thanks to the familiarity of the original sound, coupled with the alarming increase in the fidelity of the sound.

Although the original recording was (musically) all over the map, this particular recording has been tuned to reasonable pitch so that it actually sounds like it wasn't recorded by a sound engineer who had the musicality of a piece of lime jelly.
